LUIS JUNGUITO
PHOTOGRAPHER AND ARCHITECT
Hi there! My name is Luis Junguito, a spanish architect and architectural photographer based in Sydney, who found his passion in communicating the architect's work and concepts through light and composition, capturing and explaining the essence of buildings in a promenade of images.
Let me briefly introduce myself to explain my experience and context:
I studied architecture in the Architecture University of Barcelona (UPC - ETSAB), and quickly began familiar and obsessed with the strong relationship between architecture and photography, and the powerful strength of a single still image to express everything the architect wanted to achieve with their design.
Because of this, after finishing my studies in Architecture, being already an amateur architecture photographer, I decided to take one more step and studied a specialization in Architecture Photography at the Catalan Institute of Photographic Studies (IEFC), which allowed me to gain the technical knowledge I was lacking before.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to work professionally and develop my experience as a photographer both in Spain and Australia, working collaboratively with architects to achieve the best results.
I believe, as an architect with professional experience in the architecture world, I have a better understanding of what the architect wants to express, how the building works and talks to its surroundings and environment, and how light is the most important tool to communicate all this to the person looking at the image.
